Watson Lake Trail
The Watson Lake Trail in the Prescott Dells is by far our favorite trail in Prescott. It offers beautiful views of Watson Lake, a very technical terrain, and a ton of options with countless short trails throughout the Dells. The Watson Lake Trail system is accessible from several areas, including a few entry spots along the Peavine Trail (fee involved), a parking lot along Hwy 89 (free), the Watson Lake Park (fee involved), or at the trail head along Granite Dells Road (free).
Each trail intersection displays a sign with a map and an indication of your location. This trail network offers multiple possibilities, whether you are looking for less than a mile or as much as 6 miles. The north-west section of the trail navigates through the back of the Watson Lake dam and offers un-expected vegetation in the middle of the beautiful red rocks.

The Watson Lake Trail area offers some of the most technical terrain in Prescott. These trails are a mix of hard-packed single track interlaced with sections solely on rocks. They are mostly snow-free year long, a perfect get away!
